Laura has a quick smile, tons of energy and a real passion for life. Her passion for Pilates is infectious and has touched the lives of her clients over the last eleven years. Laura received her Pilates Certification from the Pilates Certification Center in 2003 and became a PMA-CPT in 2008. Her enthusiasm for life and knowledge has led her to completion of eleven Pilates specialty courses and, most recently, completion of Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master Mentor Program. As a result, Laura is now recognized as a Second Generation Pilates Instructor and Lolita Disciple Educator. A giver and not a taker, Laura has developed a PMA continuing education course addressing Pilates & ADHD after recognizing the part Pilates can play in the treatment of ADHD symptoms. In 2013, Laura launched her website, laurabpilates.com, for the purpose of sharing her love of Pilates with others. Laura also completed her Gyrotonic® certification in 2008 and is a certified Gyrotonic® Level 1 instructor. Even though she currently teaches in San Diego and Los Angeles, Laura remains committed to the clients she has taught and the instructors she has certified in all parts of the country. You can always count on Laura to remain genuine, loyal, trustworthy and passionate in any situation.

I am honored and blessed to have the opportunity to be an Ambassador for the 2015 International Pilates Heritage Congress representing the USA. Pilates is my passion and to experience Monchengladbach (the birth place of Joseph Pilates) with others that share my passion is priceless.
The purpose of the Ambassador program is to create an international community, promote unity, and to make our travel together easy and fun. As an ambassador my commitment is to build a team bond that will last a lifetime and make the journey to Germany as effortless as possible.

Cecile LeMoine Bankston began studying Pilates in 1983 and she has been teaching Pilates for 19 years. She is the Assistant Director of Kathy Corey Pilates.
As a former professional dancer, her innovative teaching style has led her to be an international presenter of workshops and master classes, including the Body Mind Spirit Educational Conference, the Pilates Method Alliance Conference, the Inner IDEA Conference, and the IDEA World Fitness Convention. Bankston has worked with professional athletes, dancers and rehabilitative clients. She has designed programs for the Louisiana State University Athletic training department as well as the Louisiana State University Women’s Tennis Team. Her workouts have appeared in Dance Spirit Magazine, and Women’s Health.

It is my great honor to have been chosen to be an ambassador representing The United States for The Pilates Heritage Congress Monchengladbach 2015.
As an ambassador, it is my hope that we can gather a large group to attend this incredible congress in Joseph Pilates’ birthplace: Monchengladbach, Germany. The purpose of the Ambassador program is to create international communities within our group to promote unity and to make our travel together easy and fun.
I will put together travel information for you so we can coordinate airline and ground transportation to and from the airport, group hotel rates, and some activities and sightseeing opportunities as well. If you wish to join us please:

3. I will begin compiling a list of participants so that I can begin to get flight information. As of now, I have not made any definite flight plans, but I will keep you updated as soon as I get an idea of number of people and where everyone is located.

Robert Turner

Robert Turner is a former Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps who has always been interested in the spiritual, physical, and mental aspects of the human body. Robert studied Exercise Science/Kinesiology, and Psychology at the University of Kentucky after serving in the Marines and discovered Pilates in 2005 while working in Sports Physical Therapy. Robert received his initial training with Stott Pilates and assisted in the Therapeutic Rehabilitation of professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes while working at the University of Kentucky Sports Med Clinic. He would often utilize the Universal Reformer and other Pilates apparatuses in Rehab and his passion for the Pilates Method grew deeper and deeper. Robert is a graduate of the two-year Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master Mentor program, and a studio-owner in Lexington,Ky. Robert has presented internationally, and attends various conferences around the globe in order to continue his growth as a Pilates professional.

I am very excited about the 2015 Pilates Heritage Congress that will meet this year in May, and that will once again be held in Joseph Pilates' hometown of Monchengladbach, Germany.
The International Pilates Heritage Congress held in Monchengladbach is a wonderful experience. I treasure many great memories from having attended before, and urge all Pilates enthusiasts to take advantage of this awesome opportunity. It is a chance to not only learn from some of the finest teachers in the Pilates community, but also to meet, mingle, and make new friends with people from all over the world who share your love of Pilates. Two weeks before my 18th birthday, while I was auditioning for Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico classical company, I was introduced to the Pilates Method, by the company’s Director at the time, Lolita San Miguel.Before we could touch the ballet barre, she had us on the floor doing foot exercises, hundreds and roll-ups. Following Lolita’s instructions, I thought to myself, “I am here to dance, not to roll like a ball”, but what I did not know was how, at that specific moment, my life would change for the better.
By 2000, as my dancing career came to a close, I received my first Pilates certification from Meghan Jackson at the Pilates Body Center in Pennsylvania. With her background as a Movement Therapist, Ms. Jackson brought a unique perspective to Joseph Pilate's classical repertoire.
In 2009, I finished a rigorous, two year Pilates Master Mentor Program (PMMP) under the direct supervision of my mentor, teacher and PIlates Elder, Lolita San Miguel, one of the only three living first generation teachers. PMMP is one of the most comprehensive training programs in the Pilates world. Lolita’s vision has three components; quality of movement and historical aspects of the classical work, legacy acquired through her teachers Joe & Clara Pilates and Carola Trier, and, lastly, the contemporary approaches and creative elements of the Method.

Lillian Velazquez is Lolita San Miguel’s Assistant and has had the privilege of working with her for over 24 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s Degree in Integrative Education Curriculum and Montessori Method from the Center for Montessori Teacher Education-North Carolina University. She founded Montessori School of Byron in Georgia. Lillian devotes most of her time and energy to the Pilates Method and helping others achieve their goals.
She is convinced that through the Pilates Method one can achieve a total integration of the Body, Mind and Spirit. She has witness how the method has brought balance, health and healing to those that practice it.

Dear friends:
I invite you to come join Lolita and I to this year’s Pilates International Heritage Congress in Monchengladbach, Germany. This is truly a special event where we all come together to share our thoughts, passion, memories and experiences. I can assure you that this is a time you will not forget and treasure for the rest of your life.
In 2009 Lolita visited the city of his birth and discovered that except for a handful of people, no one in Monchengladbach knew who Joseph Pilates was. Right then and there she made it her mission that this would change. I am happy to tell you that we have placed a Memorial Plaque where once stood an empty space with a Linden tree at the exact location of the house where he was born. The Plaque honors Joseph Pilates and this Congress is like no other because it has the power to unite us all.
This past October 9th Lolita celebrated her 80th birthday what better moment to walk with her down the streets where once Joe walked. Come share a part of history. We look forward to seeing you. Remember I am just a text, email or call away and always happy to assist you.
