Zoe Rothwell

Zoé is the founder and director at Studio Azwell Pilates & Yoga where she manages group classes, workshops & private sessions with a professional team of 5 people.

Born in France but travelled all over the world; she worked in England and Germany before settling in Switzerland. She took ballet and yoga classes from a very early age for her personal enjoyment and well being and came to understand the importance of movement and body expressions. She studied Fashion designing in Paris and later pursued a career in Haute-Couture and sportswear where she refined her appreciation of the body assessment and alignment.

Passionate about physical well being, Zoé discovered the basic principals & practice of Pilates in Canada where she has completed the full repertoire of training with STOTT PILATES®, a contemporary method adapted with sports medicine professionals which enables her to develop protocols for rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Willing to expand her knowledge of the authentic Pilates method, Zoé joined the « Lolita’s Pilates Master Mentorship Program ». Through the mentorship, she has discovered the essence of the revolutionary system created by Joseph Pilates: precision and rigour of the movement to create a well balanced physical and emotional state. Now a second generation certified instructor, Zoé perpetuates the tradition as an instructor trainer for the « Lolita’s Legacy program ».

In parallel, Zoé has studied Yoga Iyengar with renowned senior teachers such as F. Biria, W. Schichl & B. Konrad. Certified by the Institute of Yoga in Puna, India, she combines selected postures, breathing techniques and deep relaxation in all her practices to harmonise mind and body, leading to real and positive improvement at all levels.

Zoé teaches with passion and humour, applying more than 18 years of study and practice to her classes and workshop. She explores our innate physical intelligence, bringing out energy and serenity. Her attention to details and precise instruction lead to visible progress and allow everyone to surpass their own limits!
